Things to Do in Mount Vernon

Mount Vernon is Baltimore's cultural and architectural showpiece, arranged around the nation's first monument to George Washington and a set of elegant garden squares. Grand brownstones house the Peabody Institute, the Walters Art Museum, and a rich concentration of theaters, galleries, and music venues, making this the city's arts capital. The neighborhood is also a lively dining and nightlife destination, with an inclusive, welcoming scene and one of Baltimore's most diverse restaurant rows. Free concerts, book festivals, and the annual monument lighting fill the calendar, and the walkable, tree-lined streets make Mount Vernon a rewarding place to wander between a museum visit and a great meal.
