Join Make Space, a monthly program designed to inspire and support your creativity. Whether you're exploring new materials, seeking feedback, or just looking for a stress-free outlet. Make Space will now be offered as one monthly session at a new day and time. Participants can expect a creative, welcoming experience that includes engaging projects with local artists, access to a wide variety of arts and crafts supplies, and support from our Fine Arts librarian. Whether you bring your own materials for ongoing projects or explore something new with provided supplies, Make Space is a stress-free environment to create, connect, and be inspired. All abilities welcome! Now Available as one Monthly Session! New Time: Thursdays, 2-4pm October's session will feature an adventure into the world of embroidery and slow-stitch. Ever wanted to try embroidery or slow stitching but weren't sure where to start? This hands-on workshop is the perfect opportunity to explore the basics of needle and thread in a fun, creative, and relaxed environment. Throughout this two-hour program, you'll have the chance to experiment with a variety of embroidery and slow-stitching techniques, including basic embroidery stitches, decorative stitching, layering fabric, and adding texture with different threads and materials. Learn how different stitches, fabrics, and threads can be combined to create unique designs while working on a small project to take home. This is a great way to discover the possibilities of embroidery and slow stitching without needing to invest in a large collection of supplies. Walk away with enough supplies and skills to finish your project at home. Librarians will be on hand to demonstrate techniques, offer tips, and answer questions as you create. Whether you're discovering embroidery for the first time or looking to refresh your stitching skills, this workshop provides a welcoming space to slow down, experiment, learn, and enjoy the creative process—no previous experience required. All materials will be provided, and participants are encouraged to let their imaginations lead the way. All ages and skill levels are welcome! As always, feel free to bring your own projects or supplies to explore your own creative practice.
