About This Event
The Alexander Grass Humanities Institute \(AGHI\) at Johns Hopkins University and PostClassical Ensemble \(PCE\) partner to explore how music shapes the brain, with works by Bach, Beethoven, and more.
Your Brain on Music celebrates PCE's new collaboration with Johns Hopkins University's AGHI. Daniel Weinberger, professor of psychiatry, neurology, and neuroscience in the Johns Hopkins Department of Neuroscience and director of the Lieber Institute for Brain Development, curates a unique program that explores how our brains respond to and interact with music and images. Brain scans, film clips, and scientific commentary harmonize with works by Bach, Pachelbel, Nino Rota, Felipe Lara, and a complete performance of Beethoven's Eighth Symphony.
