Getting Out the Vote: An Intro to Voting

Did you know the Constitution doesn’t guarantee the right to vote? So-called voting rights amendments, like the Fifteenth or Nineteenth Amendment, forbid restrictions to voting. And the Constitution doesn’t regulate how voting occurs, states do with decentralized voting systems, creating layers of oversight--and independence. As part of National Voter Education Week at Pratt, “Getting Out the Vote” will present a history of how we all got to vote, from the earliest plans to present-day practices.
