About This Event

Parenting a child with ADHD evolves dramatically from childhood through adolescence and into young adulthood. Strategies that work in elementary school may no longer work in middle school, high school, or the transition to independence. This engaging presentation by Dr. Lori Perez explores how parenting approaches shift over time while still supporting the executive functioning, emotional development, and independence of children with ADHD. In this session, parents will learn: • How ADHD presents differently in childhood, adolescence, and young adulthood • Practical strategies for supporting executive functioning at each stage • How to gradually shift from hands-on parenting to coaching and independence • Ways to support teens as they prepare for college, careers, and adult decision-making • How families can balance holding on and letting go during key transitions Our monthly CHADD \(Children and Adults with ADHD\) speaker meeting will be followed by a facilitated support group for parents and one for adults with ADHD at 8:40 pm. You do not need to be a member to attend, we just ask for a small donation at the door. Come join us for education, community, support, resources and some light refreshments. We hope to see you there! Feel free to bring a friend, family member or neighbor who may be interested. About the Speaker - Dr. Lori Perez is an Educational Psychologist dedicated to helping individuals achieve their goals and reach their full potential. With more than 25 years of experience working with children, adolescents, and families, she has served as a school psychologist, faculty member, administrator, and educational advocate.
