“Fled to the Spirit World”: The Victorian Spiritualists of Green Mount Cemetery

Join staff from the library's Maryland Department on Friday, October 30th at Green Mount Cemetery for the 6th program in our series on the Dark Side of Maryland! Discover Green Mount Cemetery’s long hidden and mysterious history. During the tour, we will visit the gravesite of Elijah Bond, who patented the Ouija Board, as well as the final resting places of prominent Spiritualists of nineteenth-century Baltimore. Librarian Julie Saylor will tell their stories, gleaned from family histories, newspaper accounts, and their own writings. Meet at the main gate, 1501 Greenmount Avenue. The tour will be rain or shine. Participants should come prepared to walk on stone paths and uneven ground. This is program 6 in our 6 part Dark Side of Maryland series.
