About This Event

The November 3 elections will have far-reaching implications for Maryland. Four of the state’s largest jurisdictions will elect new county executives, while five state senators and 19 members of the House of Delegates are not seeking reelection. At the federal level, some voters will also replace long-serving U.S. representatives. What will this wave of leadership change mean for Maryland’s economy and for our region’s future? Join the Regional Economic Studies Institute (RESI) for the annual Economic Outlook Forum. Dr. Daraius Irani, RESI chief economist, will present his annual forecast for Maryland’s economy. A panel of experts will then examine how the results of the November elections could shape economic policy and regional growth. Panelists include: Mileah Kromer, Director, UMBC Institute of PoliticsSarah Oliver, Associate Professor of Political Science, Towson UniversityKatie Maloney, Associate Vice President of Government Relations and Public Policy, Towson UniversityModerator: Jeff Salkin, News Anchor, Maryland Public Television
