Art To Dine For – Throwback Throwdown the Old-Fashioned Way—Vinyl Revolutions
About This Event
An evening listening session with producer/curator, Guy Routte, and former DJ, Music Critic, and Arts Funder, Don Palmer. Guy starts the evening recounting his 2024 multi-media production for Hip Hop at 50, Bebop and Hip Hop – a collaboration with Fab 5 Freddy for Max Roach's 100 birthday celebration. This was a rumination on the 1983 Fab Five Freddy/Max Roach collaboration – Estate Fresh at NYC's The Kitchen. This will be followed by Don Palmer, who attended that event, spinning vinyl related to Max Roach. Guy and Don will spin related vinyl offerings and share the liner notes and interviews that shaped an era. A rare look into musical collaborations and innovations, drawing from 7,000+ vinyl records. The evening starts with food and beverages--including the Old Fashioned.
