Annapolis Witches & Legends walking tour

Take a walk through the history of Maryland’s witch trials, superstition, and local legends. Between the 1600s and 1700s, Maryland witnessed at least twelve witch trials. The last one was held right here in Annapolis. Several women were murdered under suspicion of witchcraft, one woman was legally executed, and the stories of others have become legends that persist to this day. On this 90-minute walking tour, you’ll uncover the fears and beliefs that shaped early Annapolis and hear how suspicion, rumor, and folklore left their mark on the city’s history.
