About This Event

Your story didn't begin when you walked into this room. It started long before, in the places you grew up, the people who shaped you, the moments that left a mark. This workshop invites you to dig into the experiences and identities that make you you, and transform them into stories worth telling. No performance required. Just honesty, curiosity, and the courage to begin. Every person in this room carries a universe of experience. This workshop creates space for stories rooted in who you are, your background, your values, your journey. We'll explore how personal identity becomes a storytelling superpower, and how sharing authentically builds bridges between people. Participants will: Uncover the personal stories and lived experiences worth sharingAdapt their narrative across formats including podcasts, news articles, personal essays, and Instagram captionsPractice writing and recording for both long-form depth and short-form impactStart leaning into a signature voice that stays consistent across platformsLeave with real, ready-to-publish drafts in multiple formats Alanah Nichole Davis is a Baltimore-based writer, cultural worker, and storyteller whose words have a way of finding people right where they are. She has worked with everyone from city government to nonprofits and has been featured in Baltimore Magazine, WYPR, and Maryland Matters. Alanah believes the most powerful stories aren't the polished ones, they're the real ones. She's here to help you find yours.
