Stop The Violence Basketball Game

Stop The Violence Basketball Game is a benefit basketball game to bring awareness to the high level of violence in Baltimore City. Prior to, and in the wake of the riots surrounding the Freddy Gray case, Baltimore has had high levels of violence and it seems to be getting worse. Lots of this violence is amongst our Baltimore City youth. They are often, both victims and perpetrators of the violence in Baltimore.

Stop The Violence Basketball Game hopes to be a vehicle to help reach the youth and those in our communities, to help change the mentality that leads to violence to solve problems.

You can help raise funds by purchasing a “Love Not War” T-Shirt or donating at  http://www.gofundme.com/ukb3kas

The Make Love Not War Coalition is hosting a stop the violence basketball tournament under the same name. We are a coalition of young creative entrepreneurs and concerned citizens invested in the betterment of our community. We seek your support in making this a success as we pool our own resources and talents to make this a true success.

The Make Love Not War Stop the Violence Basketball Game will take place June 13th, 4-730pm at St Francis Academy. In addition to the game, we will have special guest speakers, youth arts showcase and food. It is our goal to bring as many youth and families in the community together in a positive, productive and healthy way. For this to happen, we would like the event to be free to the public, food included, but this can only happen with YOUR help!

Refaced Defaced Art Show

Refaced Defaced Art Show is a unique art experience. Street artists Toven and Worthy, along with sculptor/painter Paul Mericle, have teamed up to explore the theme of street art claiming and reclaiming public space in a constant cycle. Collaborating to create large- and small-scale pieces, they explore the various ways in which “faces” can be created through defacing, refacing, building, removing, adding and subtracting from surfaces.

Please join us for the Silent Art Auction for GBMC NICU – a night of great art for a great cause. This is a chance for you to buy artwork, during a silent auction, from some of the most amazing artists in Baltimore who have donated their work to benefit the GBMC Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. 100% of all proceeds will go to benefit the NICU which helps care for over 500 critically ill and premature babies every year. My wife and I witnessed first-hand the amazing level of care that these babies receive while in the NICU with our 3 children who were born prematurely.
